A partnership that creates recovery
The JK-group has been a valued cooperation partner of ours for 7 years now!
But how did our first joint project come about? And what was this all about?
Today we would like to tell you a little more about the origins of our partnership and our first work together.
The JK Group is one of the leading providers of wellbeing, lifestyle and healthcare products. Our first contact came about during the development of the new ergoline model “Prestige Lightvision”. This is a next-generation sunbed designed to guide the user through the tanning programs as comfortably as possible with multimedia features and various additional functions. The sunbed experience should be completely relaxing.
JK brought us into the project team early on in the planning phase. We have already been able to support JK with component selection and initial software planning. Working together, we defined the requirements for the product, drew up specifications and planned a variety of functions that would enable an outstanding wellness experience.
After we had the opportunity to gain various experiences with the CPU platform on the basis of evaluation hardware, we created various proof-of-concepts for the project. Building on this, we supported further hardware development with the help of circuit diagram reviews and our many years of experience in the development of HMI systems, so that software and hardware could later interact in the best possible way in the finished product.
After completing this preliminary development and further joint planning, we developed an embedded Linux system optimized for the project as an operating system. Building on this system, we began developing the UI. We worked closely with a design agency to create a UI that allows every Sonnebank user to design their programs as individually as possible, while at the same time meeting the high demands for usability and intuitiveness when navigating through the program selection. After all, part of a pleasant wellness experience is not having to delve into the operation of an appliance any more than necessary.
An exciting aspect of the project was the implementation of two displays on the device, which show independent content. For example, the external display should be able to play advertising content in inactive mode at the customer’s request, but as soon as the customer interacts with the lounger, it should enable a quick preselection of the tanning programs. The sunbed can be operated during tanning and the selected program can be controlled via the indoor display. Among other functions, this included controlling the tanning intensity, the fans, the Auquafresh system, aromatherapy and music playback via Bluetooth.
Thanks to our close cooperation, the JK Group was able to develop a product together with us that has set new standards on the market with many innovations and consistent further developments. We are very proud of the work we have done together.
This first joint project has shown us once again how much we can achieve when we support each other in the right way. This first project resulted in a long-term cooperation between us and JK, in which we have worked on many more projects and are currently working on them.
